How To Write Better Subject Lines (With Examples!)
There’s nothing worse than writing a great note to your list and getting stuck on the subject line. But the thing is, if you half-ass the subject line, your note most likely never gets read. I got you 🙂 Get my best tips and some of my favorite subject lines that work.
If This Ride Is About Changing the World, I Want to Get Off (How to Get Better at Talking About What You Do)

Can you take me from Jennifer Hudson, circa American Idol to JHud, Oscar winner?
💯 but you’re basically already there!
I loved so much about what you did and said here – the short videos (I usually hate videos because I just want the substance), the content with specifics of what to do (and examples of how others do it), and the professional – yet friendly – look. I’m taking notes.
And, yes, I’ve got to just start writing!
Hi Jessica,
Thank you! I’m thrilled this resonated with you. Giving you specifics so you can go forth and implement is what it’s ALL about for me. Can’t wait to see what you start writing!!
You’re great on camera. -So comfortable, relaxed, just the right amount of funny, pleasant to listen to, and no rambling or time wasting (great edits, too!). -Just a quick little SUPER helpful, fun series. Thanks, brah! I love you, man!
Seriously, you inspired me. (All the interviews were amazing and helpful, too.) I really need to up my adjective game right now, but instead I’m going to hit POST and actually finish it.
Copy that, (love THAT by the way!) I’m not stealing…just here this once. 🙂
Rochelle
Hi Rochelle,
Thank you!!! The editing is all the incredible Braddon Pictures – he does incredible work if you’re ever in NYC!
You can totally use Copy That – I’ll allow it 😉
Wow so helpful. I’m new to your list and love your content!
Hey Natasha! Ohhhh I’m so glad this is resonating with you. What’s been your favorite tip so far?
Fast. Clear. Concise. Fun. Info-packed. Thanks!
That’s how I roll, Sue! Glad it resonated with you!!! xoxo
Oh my gosh Marisa, you are both super helpful and adorable!!! Thank you for this!!! I can be very wordy so I appreciate the advice and I’m definitely going to start and send you my blog! (I used to write one but only to vent my anger about politics, so I don’t count that one) 🙂

Love your concise, fun, actionable video style! I started following you after I recently "attended" your Copy Chat 2.0. Which, by the way, was amazing!

So glad you loved Copy Chat 2.0!! What was your favorite interview/tip? Thanks for the love on video. I always want to keep it relatable and real and encourage my students in The Copy Confidence Society to do the same!
I can’t really pick a favorite–everyone I listened to was fabulous! I learned so much good stuff. And I was introduced to you. And you inspire me to learn how to write extraordinary copy!
Yeah, it was an excellent group of women (and Mark, too!) And YES – a lot of people think copy is the icing on the cake but copy IS THE CAKE. Without it, you can’t build your list, get those dream clients, manifest those collaborations. This is what I help my ladies in The Copy Confidence Society do for their own business.
Loved the video! I’ll follow your CTA and send you an email soon!
Hi Ilse,
So glad you loved it!! Woohoo! YES – send me an email soon. Can’t wait to see what you create.

Hey Liz! So glad you loved this video series. What was your favorite tip? XO
I’ll never look at Rice Krispies again without thinking of you! LOL! My fav tip was the POP. Thanks for sharing specific and conversational language to use for the various CTA’s.
Yes, Melissa! The "POP" is my fav, too! Always keep it conversational. Makes such a difference. Can’t wait to see what you create with this! XO
Let me just say that I am not sure why it has taken me this long to have stumbled upon this! hahaha This was so magical and breaking it up in to these little pieces does so much for me and my writing, and also tips I can pass on to my clients for their own blogs. Ima review my own blogs and add some SNAP, CRACKLE AND POP where I need to. Thanks again!! you ROCK!!
You rock 😉
